254 Coats and Counting! We have 21 days left of our coat drive and everyday, more coats come in. I don’t think we will have any problem collecting over 300 coats for Youth and Family Services as well as the Corner Stone Rescue Mission. Once a week a member of each organization comes to the dealership to pick up what we have collected thus far. We are thrilled at the response and it’s so heart warming to see people taking the time to bring in their coats, many of them brand new with the tags still on.
Thanks to various businesses around the Black Hills, we have been able to put together a great silent auction with well over 30 items. They range from sets of truck tires and running boards to hair cuts and gift baskets. We anticipated having to use the auction money to buy whatever coats were still needed but now we can use it to buy snow pants, boots, hats and gloves.

Warming Communities…One Coat at a Time
Rapid City, SD, November , 1st, 2010—The need has never been greater and it’s never been easier to make a difference in your community. Here is your opportunity to make sure that nobody in Rapid City goes without such a basic necessity as a warm winter coat this winter.
Rapid Chevrolet Cadillac is collecting clean, gently used coats and jackets as part of the One Warm Coat community service project. Coats of all shapes and sizes are welcome. One Warm Coat is dedicated to distributing re-usable coats, free of charge, directly to local children and adults. Rapid Chevrolet Cadillac has chosen to give collected coats to the Corner Stone Rescue Mission and Youth and Family Services. There will also be a silent auction table set up in the dealership showroom with 100% going to Youth and Family Services. The program is an easy way for you and your family to pass along coats and jackets that you no longer need.
Rapid Chevrolet Cadillac has made donating a coat simple. Just bring in your coats, Nov. 15 – Jan. 1 to any of the dealership departments: sales, service or the body shop, Monday – Saturday from 8 am to 5 pm and drop it in the labeled box. Don’t forget to grab a raffle ticket for each coat and put it in the raffle box located on the sales floor.
As a thank you to the community and their coat donations, for each coat put in the box, Rapid Chevrolet Cadillac will enter your name into a raffle for a 50” Plasma television. The winner will be announced December 23rd!
